Who is Hyroad Energy?

Hyroad is an independent solution provider operationalizing hydrogen-fueled commercial trucking for fleets. We bundle trucks, hydrogen fuel, maintenance, and software into a single service, so fleets can run zero-emission vehicles without taking on the complexity and risk that has historically slowed adoption.

Why Hydrogen?

Heavy-duty trucking runs on range, uptime, and payload, and that's where batteries fall short. We chose hydrogen because it works where batteries don't. A hydrogen fuel cell truck goes more than 500 miles on a fill, is back on the road in under 20 minutes refueling, and gives up less payload than a battery-electric truck, with nothing but water vapor out the tailpipe.  Stations are quicker and less costly to build as well: they need a fraction of the grid power a charging depot does, so utility upgrades don't set the schedule or budget. Hydrogen is also made in the U.S. from domestic natural gas and renewable electricity, promoting energy independence and security of critical fuel supply. Hyroad owns 113 hydrogen trucks today and operates refueling infrastructure. The result for fleets is simple: trucks, fuel, and service from one company, running today.

What is the company's mission?

Our mission is to make it simple, cost-effective, and reliable for fleets to run hydrogen-fueled commercial vehicles.

Our near-term objective is to close the gap with diesel - on ease, cost, and operational confidence - and eliminate all barriers to hydrogen adoption.

Our long-term target is for zero-emissions trucks to be the obvious choice for fleets, surpassing all other heavy duty transportation options.

How is Hyroad obtaining hydrogen fuel?

Hyroad aggregates hydrogen supply and builds refueling infrastructure - we do not produce hydrogen ourselves.  Hyroad is building a hydrogen supply and refueling network to support hydrogen transport in Texas and California, with a long-term goal of making infrastructure available to fleets across major freight corridors nationwide.

How is Hyroad different from other trucking companies?

Hyroad is OEM-agnostic for vehicles and supplier-agnostic for hydrogen and equipment. We take on the complexity and the risk, bundling vehicles, hydrogen supply, fueling infrastructure, maintenance, and software into a single, seamless operational solution.  Most companies in this space are focused on one piece of the puzzle – trucks, hydrogen, infrastructure. Hyroad does none of them exclusively. That independence is the point.

Question 6

Does Hyroad manufacture trucks?

Hyroad is not a truck manufacturer. We do not design or produce vehicles.  Furthermore, Hyroad is not OEM-exclusive. We operate independently of any single truck or equipment manufacturer, and we seek out and partner with the best available technology providers.

Question 7

Does Hyroad have a relationship with Nikola?

Accepted Answer

In August 2025, Hyroad acquired 117 hydrogen fuel cell trucks, spare parts, the software platforms, and IP assets from the Nikola Corporation bankruptcy auction. The acquisition included the vehicles, supporting software systems, and operational infrastructure necessary to deploy and maintain the fleet. Hyroad is not a successor to Nikola. We are a separate legal entity and Nikola no longer exists as an operating company. It is now a liquidation trust - an entity whose sole purpose is to hold Nikola's remaining debts and customer obligations and settle them with creditors. Those obligations sit with that trust, not with Hyroad.
